Thought Patterns
One quick word about thought patterns. Your thought patterns determine what mood you are in every day. Which can then have an effect on your actions. You could be prohibited from taking an action that could make or break your success. Your perception of a particular situation will determine how you feel. For example, I sat and thought one day how limited in scope my career was and how it was such a dead end. I kept thinking about this and of course became rather sad the rest of the morning. Then, at a moments glance, I changed my thinking to how my career shows that I have aptitude and that it would be a good stepping stone to another completely different career. In fact, it could open a lot of doors for me in other career fields just based on what I’ve done even though the college degree I carry might not be directly related to that new career. Right away, since my perception changed about a situation, I felt great all the sudden. I was filled with hope and felt good the rest of the day. All based on a thought process. So any time you are feeling sad or are bothered by something, stop and ask yourself why it is you are feeling this way and how can you change the perception on a situation to possibly make a not-so-good situation look promising. So I guess to put it simply, turning lemons into lemonade can have more of an effect that what you might think. It really can make all the difference between being depressed and happy all within a split second.
