Self Acceptance

One good movie to see, or book that I would recommend reading would be the Way of the Peaceful Warrior: A Book That Changes Lives
. I had read the book years ago and still remember it quite well today. Within the last year or so, a movie about the book had been released on DVD
. I plan on getting the movie soon because I thought the book was a good story and it had gotten a good point across.
We become our thoughts because we are slaves to our minds. We are slaves to the never ending thoughts, feelings, and addictions we have. A quote I remember is: “Mountains are mountains and Rivers are rivers. Then, Mountains are no longer mountains, and Rivers are no long rivers. And finally, Mountains are mountains, and Rivers are rivers”. This sounds like something someone that is schizo or tripping would say, but it does have real meaning behind it. What it really means, is sometimes in order to find yourself, you sometimes have to lose yourself. You have to lose your thoughts, your cravings, and whatever you do that only brings you temporary satisfaction. Your mind is always leading you down a never ending path in the wrong direction. You might have a craving for ice cream or cookies at one moment thinking it will bring you satisfaction, but that satisfaction will only be temporary. And then your cravings will return. And back down the wrong path you go destroying your health and well being along the way.
The point we all need to reach with our minds to live life to its fullest is a never ending phase of satisfaction. This is accomplished through a phase of awareness where you have finally separated yourself from the thoughts and beliefs that entrap you. Allowing your conscious awareness to exist in the world with nothing attached. Observing the world for what it is with no thoughts or opinions about it. All thoughts and cravings roll off of you and finally the feeling of self acceptance overcome you because you are able to separate yourself from your fears and insecurities. It’s at this moment that you can truly appreciate your life because you have been given the wonderful opportunity to observe the conscious world for what it is as an independent soul. Then you will realize that life is a gift.
